Press release: MEMENTOES project launches innovative software services for game developers

The MEMENTOES project has completed two major software development initiatives: a suite of AI-powered services created by CERTH and an Accessibility Software Development Kit (SDK) developed by FORTH. These tools mark the final phase of the project’s technical innovation, supporting the creation of more empathetic, inclusive, and historically grounded video games.

As part of the MEMENTOES project’s exploration of how digital media can promote empathy and education, these software services empower developers to create richer and more accessible storytelling experiences.

AI Services for Game Developers

Developed by CERTH, the project’s AI Services include a bundle of tools:

  • 3D Reconstruction: Digitize real-world historical objects
  • Super Resolution: Enhance the resolution of archival images and video
  • Style Transfer: Modify the look of images and videos using references to a certain style
  • Text2Texture: Generate new textures for a 3D asset via a text prompt

To request access to the services, please email amitsiaki@iti.gr from your professional email address. You can watch demos of the AI Services here.

Accessibility SDK

Developed by FORTH, the SDK comprises a comprehensive suite of accessibility tools for players and developers. The SDK includes:

  • Assistive tools for players to apply to games, such as a magnification lens and recolouring tools
  • Tools for game developers, which can be integrated into game development workflows to enable accessibility profiles to be applied to game scenes for players with visual or motor impairments.

To request access to the SDK, please email stant@ics.forth.gr. You can watch a demo of the Accessibility SDK here.
