This document describes the Release Candidate Betas of the games that were submitted by the teams from FORTH, Causa Creations, and Charles Games within the MEMENTOES project. This document contains three main sections, each dedicated to one of the three games: Those From Below (Causa Creations), Gulag Diaries (FORTH), and We Grew Up in War (Charles Games).
Each of the three sections is devoted to summarising the crucial features that are implemented in the submitted game betas as of January 2025. This includes a description of the player experience, general storyline, narrative approach, game mechanics and features, and controls. The report also summarizes updates to the art direction, chosen technology, and software for development throughout the project, and concludes with an overview of upcoming priorities for the remaining game development process.
The report provides an overview of the state of game development at the time of writing, January 2025. Although the games are expected to evolve further for the duration of the project, the descriptions offer a representative sample of the game concepts and their functions, and provide a clear picture of the direction of the final games.
The lead author of this deliverable was Causa Creations, with contributions from Charles Games and FORTH.
This deliverable is currently under review by the European Commission and will be released publicly once approved.
